The clamp slides in and out of a hollow opening on the back side of the ROCKET jig, allowing the clamp to be used for both holding the work piece against the face of the jig, and to align the work pieces flush as the screws are driven. The fence slides over the hollow opening of the clamp, keeping the clamp secure in the jig when boring the hole, but quickly allows the clamp to be separated from the jig for aligning the work pieces.
The extension lengthens the jig so that the screws will be better positioned for thicker materials like 2x4's. Lifetime Warranty on hardened steel drill guides.

 
 
The RocketTM Jig utilizes a sliding base plate which allows the Kreg Face ClampTM to slide into the recess on the back of the jig and secure it to the workpiece while drilling the pocket holes. The Face ClampTM can then be removed and used to assemble the joint as shown at right. in addition the RocketTM Jig features a mounting hole that allows you to temporarily attach the tool to any workpiece in any location by simply driving a screw. A nice feature in situations where pocket holes could normally not be used because of a clamping obstacle.
